Have to love the last line, perhaps Dave will make a statement when he goes to court.

A former adviser to David Cameron has been charged with making and possessing indecent images of children.

Patrick Rock, 63, was arrested at his home in London in February after Downing Street contacted police.

He has been charged with three offences of making indecent images of children and one offence of possessing 59 indecent images of children.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the four charges cover offences allegedly committed between July 31 and August 31, 2013.

Asked about the decision at a news conference in Brussels, the Prime Minister said: "I won't be saying anything.

"It would be purely a matter for the courts and it wouldn't be appropriate to comment."

Rock has been bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 3.

The NCA said the images have been assessed by Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) officers and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) lawyers as meeting the definition of Level C.

Level C is defined as "indecent images depicting erotic posing with no sexual activity", an NCA spokeswoman said.

Rock, a special adviser on policy, resigned from his post a day before he was arrested.

He has been an influential figure behind the scenes in the Conservative Party for decades and made three unsuccessful bids to become an MP.

In the 1970s he was credited with coining the Tory slogan "Cows moo, dogs bark, Labour puts up taxes".

In 2011 Rock was drafted in by Mr Cameron - a fellow adviser to former Home Secretary Michael Howard in the 1990s - to beef up the Downing Street policy unit.

Prior to his arrest and resignation, he had been involved in drawing up government policy on internet porn filters.

I think you will find a fair amount of that sort of things going on at all political levels both left and right!

I have a feeling some of you are going to be disappointed the morning after the next election, because I can only see one winner and that's him, Ed is just not appealing to the voters. I don't particularly like the guy nit see little crediable alternative
There won't be any winners after the next election .
The Tory vote will be slashed by Ukip and they will fail to win a swathe of the necessary marginals - possibly to the benefit of labour because the only other alternative in these constituencies was the lib dems and they are going to totally collapse, leaving a vacuum which will be filled by the least shaky voter base - most likely labour.
We are going to wake up the next day with a truly hung parliament and some fairly horrible deals will be struck between some unlikely political bedfellows.
Whichever way you cut it , Cameron will not "win" and nor will the British voter.

I think the world of him. Proper special.

The way he has fought his way up from the bottom to the top job in British politics is just a heart rending story of guts and ultimate glory. A true warrior of the people.
Truly inspirational - and the way that he shares the pain of austerity with us moves me to tears.

Obviously he's no Nigel Farange but he's getting there.

The man is a giant and will go down in history with Maggie. Fucking superstar is 'call me Dave'.
