Okay so they both played for the rags one way another, one had a trial and another had a two year loan spell there so that is similar. 25 goals is a good start to claiming 100 goals in his Manchester City career (25%) and perhaps he could even surpass him through his achievements while at the club given the current resources available.

I know we all love Shaun for what he done for us, but could Tevez match or surpass his status amongst us? Thoughts?

Would have to do at least 3 years with City and win something to be in Goater's league for me.

Oh and 25+ every year

Calm down

He has only played one good season

And anyway he isnt anything like the goat

The goat was a bit shit (be honest) and he was in a shit team......The goat gave us a glimmer to hang onto...a little ray of hope that once again the good time truck would roll into our world

Tevez cost 25 million quid and is an Aargentinian superstar

Yes deffo, he "seems" to love it here, try's his heart out, regularly plays well, scores goals and dislike's certain people from the dark side. He's virtually already got cult status!

Are you serious guys, Carlos is on another fukin level to the mighy Goat - even Chuckle brother mashing - Carlos has done it, and errr he's already scored over 20 goals in the top flight in his 1st season, has great skill etc.. They are both very lovable characters but I just can't see Carlos stopping getting bigger for us now...

He does seem to love it here but he did hint that us as fans could do a little bit better when he was at the fans forum the other week!

I suppose this question will only be answered properly in 5years time!

Recently lucky enough to have a chat with the Goat and although he is a brilliant, modest character and a City legend, even he would be embarrassed by any suggestion that he was anything like as good a player as Tevez.

Shaun has cult status already and Tevez will soon have it also.

Bollocks.....

Tevez isnt anywhere near the Goat more like

Carlos has a lot of work to do if he wants to reach that level for me

Sorry PPS, I think you are in the minority with that opinion. Shaun was in a pretty poor side playing against inferior opposition most of the time. Carlos is doing it week in, week out against top premiership opposition and that's not having a go at Shaun. Shaun is a deserved legend at City.
