I'm afraid that becoming arrogant is almost impossible to prevent. I'm sure there were many a rag who told their son, "we were shit yesteryear, be more humble." But there's only so much one can do before the intense success and competitiveness becomes something akin to arrogance. I mean, come on, we already expect to beat certain teams. Not out of self-righteousness... just out of logic. Our clubs ambitions have affected ours and now we have a higher bar to meet. All of this is going to create thought processes, actions and lines of dialogue that will be construed exactly how we see the Dippers and Rags.
And once we're ten-twelve years into this domination of England, (something I think will likely happen) then the media will 'can't beat us/join us' and it will feel all the more self-righteous. And as the generations get old and grey, we will be left with few blues who really knew how it felt to be City, and was extra thankful for our success. The babyblues of today will have grown up with nothing but "AGUEERRROOOO!!!" Nothing but 3 league titles every 6 years. It just won't be the same. How can it be?
Just the way it goes, I'm afraid. Gosh, I hope I'm wrong.
