I think we are close. I mean I do take on board it is important to have experience. Yes the club has experience in being in the top 4. But history doesn't matter all the time on the pitch. Do their players represent what Man Utd domination on English football?
Definitely not! I'll give you Rooney, he is def the star but Owen and Berba? Give me a break. No one will put these 2 players anywhere near the top 20 players in the world. They have lost a good crop of players and are loosing others to age. I doubt Giggs or Scholes will have similar impacts.
Us on the other hand, have young and rising stars. Ade, Robinho, Barry, Lescott, Toure, Wright-Phillips, Tevez, GIVEN, Onouha, and Ireland.
They all have the potential of being world stars and are capable of beating the team that has Ben Foster, Anderson, Scholes, Giggs, Berba, Owen, Fletch, etc...
They do have amazing CB's in Vidic and Ferdinand. Their keeper is out, their best CD is also out. What we have left? Rooney, Vidic and Fletch in that crop. Strong backbone but will crumble in exhaustion with time. The days of them having the ultimate starting 11 is gone. No longer do they have the amazing options of playing which player and where that had teams guessing. Now we know its Berba and Rooney, possibly Owen coming on as a sub. Their wingers are no longer an enormous threat as thought before, I mean Giggs and Valencia?? I' d take Petrov over these 2.
