Can you claim to have invented a long-running City song?

Mate, with all due respect, posting a song on here does not count.

I recall belting out ''Istanbul...Istanbul..., We are coming''

Now its fairly obvious that this would have been sung anyway.

I'd never heard anyone sing it before i got a fair few singing it. I'm probably wrong.

Nothing obvious about that song mate, that's one of the most original in recent years.

Where/when did you first sing it?

Sure it were a qualifying round, Streymur if i'm correct.

I'm sure Liverpool sang the same song a few years back.

Me and my mates got the istanbul holiday song after we had been knocked out going at everton in the pub before the game and it was the sung in the ground all that day and several other times

He ain't got no births certificate
he's got aids and can't get rid of it
he's a 'bleeeeeeep' bastard.

Penned that back in 92 with fat bob and 2 insane crew (:

That's a belter Zin.

Still lives on.

You must be very proud. Or does the grammatically incorrect use of "no" in the second verse bug the shit out of you by now? ;-)

I always sang 'He HAS got no birth certificate'. Evidently I was wrong!

Fair play mate. I heard it first at Villa away.

Not me but my mate did the

"Cannon n Ball are shagging your wife" to Harry kewell Liverpool at home. It even made chant of the week in one of the papers

think the ocean finance song was started in the Arkles before everton away, I know it was posted on here but thats when I first heard it sung.

I first heard Istanbul at Villa away. It was one lone bloke at the far end of the top tier singing on his own for about half an hour before it caught on. He's perseverance was impressive.

I first heard that at a home game in Mary ds a few lads in corner near DJ kept on singing it for ages then it took off and everyone was singing it in the pub.

Whoever started the U-N-I-T.... one needs shooting. It's sickening how much some people seem to enjoy spelling out their name. Let's leave the nick nack paddywack nursery rhyme shit to them lot.

Was at West Ham right at the back when Sven took over and belted out as soon as he scored Bianchi woooaah Bianchi woooaahh he comes from italy he plays for man city!

Was good for the derbies.

Tried to start many. But not too many catch on.

Pretty sure I was one of the first people to sing Istanbul with 'we are going on our holiday' at the end.

Gareth Barry song. You'd be surprised how many people now that one!

The Zabaleta Macarena.

I remember getting the whole City end away at West Ham singing 'We should be at Bramall Lane'

I always think it was Paul (off Bluewatch) who started 'Fergie was right, your fans are shite' - but I could be wrong.

Myself and my buddies enjoy singing contempory cheesey pop songs, so if you're at Shambles on Sunday try and remember the words to the 'Sambuca' song, 'Everytime we touch' by Cascada... or anything else we might think up!
