Canal Street Blues LGBT Supporters Group 2014

this is brilliant, well done to all concerned, keep up the good work,Canal street blues! love it!

Dear Blue Mooners
Thought it was time to update you all on what has been happening:
• Canl Street Blues have finalising our web site <a class="postlink" href="http://www.canalstreetblues.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.canalstreetblues.co.uk</a>
• currently have a Facebook page and twitter account we use to keep in touch <a class="postlink" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/canalstblues" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://www.facebook.com/groups/canalstblues</a>
@CanalStBlues
• We have of course a thread on Blue moon <a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=296032&hilit=canal+street+blues" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=296032&hilit=canal+street+blues</a>

This gets up dated when we have something to report say so far the comments have been pretty positive and supporters groups like Didsbury, Bury North, Fallowfield, Cheadle, the 1894 group and the City Centre branches have been very encouraging and helped to promote CSB's as have the excellent ( brown nosing here) BLUE MOON MODERATORS .
If you know people who you know would like to join the CSB group ask them to send a friends request to me <a class="postlink" href="https://www.facebook.com/johnbmcr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://www.facebook.com/johnbmcr</a> on Facebook I can add them to the group
Then the plans are to:
• have a pre pride social launch /meet up on Canal street Thursday 21st August From about 19:30 venue to be agreed
• Village FC will play an exhibition match possibly with an Irish LGBT club who happen to be in Manchester for the weekend booze up like MCFC Village having won a major Trophy this year so you’ll be in the company of champions.
• lead a joint group on the Manchester Pride Saturday 23rd August parade with Village Football Club and Gay Supporters Federation. CSB are going to invite other LGBT fan groups to join us on this it worked really well recently at London Gay pride ( we are guessing the MCFC v the Gerard dipper do dos will be moved to Sunday or Monday)
• Have will have a stall in the village over the whole weekend
Details of how you can help and volunteer with the parade and stall to follow
We are hoping to find a central Manchester venue in or just near to the village to have pre match meets and for those who don't go to away matches to watch the games so far the most likely option is the Waldorf which is big MCFC pub a note of appreciation to the guys from Taurus have been great but they don't have a HD TV to watch the games.

Finally Fully understand concerns some on here have about a separate MCFC LGTB fan club the points have been well argued .When we were setting up we discussed this potential loyalty clash with Kevin Parker all agreed that unlike typical MCFC fan groups which are primarily geographically based e.g. my own Fallowfield CSB would operate in a slightly more looser way as a community of interest fan club. That way people can show their support for MCFC in whatever way they choose .

Sorry indeed for the long update if you have got this far well done !!!

PS pre season some of us will be @ the charity shield Aug 10th London and City Live event Aug 14th so again please use the FB page to keep everyone updated on what you’re up too as well
Very Best wishes to all the lovely BLUE MOONERS

John Browne

The protaganist of this 'supporting your football club bears no affiliation to sociopolitical opinion' viewpoint takes to an internet chat room, established specifically to house the opinions and debate of the supports of a particular football club, in order to voice his/her opinion on this particular sociopolitical subject - then goes on to state that said forum is in place to allow users to air opinions and personal viewpoints.

I'd say on that logic, said poster should have recognised that this forum was no place to raise his/her argument.

Best of luck to the newly established Canal Street Blues LGBT Supporters Group for the upcoming season.

That's cleared that up, thanks.

That was about as clear as one of your posts when you first joined.

So what your saying is the protagonist concerned has, in expressing said opinion in this forum, failed to acknowledge the implied tautology of context which makes his stated viewpoint in process, not content, manifestly paradoxical and therefore you agree with it.

I do think you could have made the point more clearly, but otherwise I agree.

can just say i`m straight and 61 years old.

i accept people for who and what they are but i dont need to know if the bloke or woman sat next to me is straight or gay or wanks furiously to old newsreel footage of margret thatcher.

i just dont understand the need for a person to broadcast to the world their sexual orientation, what happens behind their bedroom door at night between two or three consenting adults is of no concern to me.

Well of course you don't.
