Cancelling Sky for the summer

Only last week I threatened to leave and join BT vision....i was quickly offered my sky world package, multiroom and hd for £42 giving me a saving of about £30 a month! Moral of the story....stick with sky but improve your haggling skills!

We're lucky here, most matches the coverage starts with the players lining up in the tunnel, half time is just highlights and few goals from other games then a few highlights at the end. No pundits to worry about.

On Saturdays its only a scruffy fat bloke in a studio with Keith Armstrong, who is British but played and managed in Finland for years (and actually won Finnish Celebrity Come Dine With Me not that long ago...) and they just seem to take the piss out of each other's suits rather than talk about football.

Seeing Neville's bumfluff on my screen every week would give me a seizure

I binned $ky some years ago after the Delia game.
At that time they were supposed to (as part of their contract) give 6 weeks notice about moving a game.
5 weeks and 5 days before we were due to play the canaries my mate an i booked tickets, flights and hotel rooms in Norwich for the saturday and saturday night, flying back on the sunday evening.
Two days after that (and on a weeken when two london clubs and two lancashire clubs were due to play each other), $ly decided that City at Norwich would be good for a Monday night.
Approx £100 up in smoke with no course of redress.
I have easily saved that £100 now by not giving my hard earned cash to murdoch.

I've just cancelled my sky after years.
had the complete package, HD, plus multi-room
noticed they were charging me extra and one month had charged me £100 extra so called them.
They said its because I have multi-room and they are not connected to phone lines.
I pointed out the 12 month rule on phone lines, and they said it doesnt apply to multi-room, and that all boxes have to be connected to a phone line all of the time
Told them this was not practical, and that I wasn't prepared to pay it, and asked why they had taken £100 off me, and they said they forgot to take the extra the previous month, so they took double.
Cancelled it there and then, saved myself £90, plus the extra that they were taking for not being connected to a phone line, and got BT vision. £29.90 a month including sky sports 1 & 2 and ESPN

I phoned to cancel all my sky packages and got offered half price for 6 months and thought it was rude not to accept.

Will be cancelling again in the 5th month.

Its way too expensive. Only thing I would miss is the sky+ features

I've just done the same.

I siad I was thinking of cancelling and when asked why? I said it was because neville was going to be a pundit. I also stated they couldn't of picked a more biased person. I also said they were to much utd as it was with out him, now it would become unbearable.

They gave me half price for the next 6 months

Spiderboxes are meant to be good, but I have got a Dreambox, they seem to be alot more stable, with built in hard drive, you can record.

I won't give Sky a penny, ever, as long as they remain United cheerleaders.

There are always alternatives - obviously watching in person but on TV, there are pubs and what not for the "HD" experience.

In the comfort of your own home, there are free streams online and if you find them a bit dodgy performance-wise, liveonlinefooty.com is great value for money and has 3 o'clock kickoffs on too (plus Spanish football, WWE PPVs, and other random stuff).
