Anybody been in late July/August?

I went in late September - bit quiet when it comes to night life and it's also 'Spring BreaK' so there's quite a few kids knocking about even in the hotels that weren't designed for families! Weather is bloody lovely though, very, very hot!!

Spring break in September? Do me a fucking favour idiot!!!!!!!

July/August should be packed with teens and students on their 'summer hols' and graduates on a week long pissup. It is a shithole of a resort with lovely hotels however. Bit like Blackpool with palm trees, all you can eat burritos, and all you can drink tequila. Plenty of better places to go in N.America/Caribbean.

I also made the mistake of asking for ice with my drinks, and using the hotel ice at night....came back with a parasite, which, I swear, almost killed me!!! Spent 18months recovering having lost over 2 1/2 stone f.f.s!!!!

Been a few times, twice on the strip and once a bit further away called the moon palace sunrise which was a lot better...

Ha ha - sorry! 'Blonde moment'

I've been then and many times to the area. It's hot, but fun. I much prefer Playa Del Carmen which is about an hour south. What kind of experience are you looking for? Best beaches, best nightlife, shopping, golf, quaint, archeology, all you can eat food or local eateries?

It's on my list of places to go but guess I'd better get a job first and pay off my ever mounting debt :/
