Yeh fergiscum and carrick fucking him over by saying that carrick is injured is totally capellos fault. Its definitely his fault too that some players just don't have the heart! Lets just all pin this on capello, is it no coincedence that these past 10 years england have done shite all?? no fucking heart!

If I was Wes Brown and I'd been overlooked for the World Cup in favour of some Scouse geriatric who turned his back on the national team YEARS ago, I'd tell Capello to go fuck himself as well. The manager showed absolutely no faith whatsoever in either of these players when it really mattered, so why the fuck should they waste their time going to play for him in a shit pointless game three days before the start of the season? Neither of them would be first-teamers and as both are in their 30s, I imagine they'd rather spend international breaks with their families than sitting on a bench somewhere in Eastern Europe.

I'll grant you that Ferguson and Carrick have stitched Capello right up, but the complete lack of any communication with his players is shocking. And it'd be club before country every single day of the week for me, but you're more than entitled to your opinion.

These guys are supposed to be professionals though, just because they get overlooked doesn't mean they should turn there back on the team, they have to fight for there spot and show why there getting paid so much money, and i agree with you in regards to carragher he truely is shite and never should have got picked but capello deemed him necessary to the team. So what if they have to sit on the bench? Thats the cruel reality of football, thats the sacrifice they have to make as footballers. i do agree with you in regards to the communication factor but is it capellos fault or just the massive egos in the england squad?

Wes Brown broke his metatarsal in March and wasn't fit enough to be in contention for the World Cup squad. But you're right though, at his age he's probably sick of being picked on the bench whenever called up by England.

Regardless of the stupid timing of this international, anyone turning their nose up at the chance should be looked at very seriously and the question put to them quite squarely: "Do you want to play for England or not?". Too many 'stars' are picking and choosing when to play, if they're gonna play. Yer pick a team and if they can't be arsed, sod em. Pick someone else who will look upon an international call up as a measure of achievement. Too many England players from the last crop of failures think they are above it all.

To play for your country should be the pinacle of a players career, and should be approached with both pride and commitment. The whole system needs a complete shake-up. Too many players are assured of their places and don't try hard enough becasue they know they're undroppable. We want hungry, young eager footballers who want to play and have a point to prove.

There are too many players taking the p1ss when it comes to call-ups and "injury" (i.e. Carrick this time round, but the list is endless), only playing when it suits them. Then those who are injured and therefore don't get picked (i.e. Brown before the world cup) throw a strop when they get back into the squad. If you're not in the squad, then it should be an incentive to work harder in order to regain your place (i.e Robinson, who was a decent keeper who lost his way a bit, but had a good year for Blackburn last season), not retire because it now doesn't suit you.

I do see the argument of retiring when you are coming towards the end of your career and have had your chance, for example if you've had injury troubles or are trying to extend your careers (Robinson), but bit-part players (Brown, 23 apps in 11 years, mostly in friendlies or as a sub) acting like "the big I am" is not on. I know he takes a lot of flack for being the ultimate playboy celebrity footballer, but at least Beckham gives a sh1t.
