Hmmmmmmm a cup game at Goodison................Didn't go well in the old days

my abiding memories of Everton cup games were the FA cup semi-final in 1969 we won 1-0 and the FA Cup quarter final in 1981 we drew at goodison 2-2 , and won the replay 3-1 , we went on to win both competitions , good results in the old days :)

Lost the 81 final mate.I also remember playing them in 1970 we won 2-0 and went on to win the league cup,also playing them 66 in the FA cup it took them 3 games to beat us,we were in the 2nd division at that time.

If we try and play an attacking game we will get picked off because I don't think our team does well against good pressing teams as proved when we have played the likes of Pochettino's Southampton and Spurs, Klopp's Dortmund and Liverpool, Rodgers Liverpool etc... Even Stuttgart in pre-season for example.

What about trying to press and nullify their transition game.?
I think Tottenham played very well against Liverpool and were the better team. Also, they felt comfortable throughout the match irrespective of all the running Pool did. Us sitting deep and inviting pressure doesn't bode well with me.

don't think liverpool had a focal point though without either of benteke, sturridge or ings. probably would have made a difference.
