Captain for next season | Bernardo confirmed (pg11)

Very pleased if that’s correct for the Captains group. Every one a winning mentality and treble winning champions.
Demographic of the group is younger with King Kev, Kyle and Ilkay dropping out.
With our quality new signings, the shake up of the back room staff, the togetherness of fans with the clubs positive move regarding tickets and Pep’s relentless drive for success, I’m sensing that we could be lifting lots of trophies 2025/26 season and beyond.

Perfect. Dias, Rodri and Bernardo always go to battle for us and Haaland is our talisman.

All the kids moaning about Bernardo and Dias can sling it.

Glad this means Bernardo gets 1 more year, I know he's still got enough in him to push us to trophies.

No Gundo in the captaincy group surely suggests he is on the way out. With Kovacic’s injury, it would also make sense for him to leave, but I think there still may be space for him - not definite. Bernardo staying is positive, out of the three (all of whom’s futures were in the air) he’d be the one I’d be most eager to keep. The main takeaway is that Gundogan’s fate is seemingly sealed. Will never forget the heights of the 20/21 season, great servant to the club. Will be sad to see him go for a second time.

BURRRRRR NAAARRRR DDOOOOO!!!
Rodri
Ruben
Erling
Nathan?

Called some of them correctly..

Off on Nathan though!

BTW Vinnie was right all along:

Vincent Kompany on Bernardo Silva (2019): “I say to him often you are 50% clown, 50% leader. When he becomes 25% clown, 75% leader he will become the captain of this team. He is so strong and to be honest there is nobody who deserves this title more."

Or just that he didn’t get enough votes?

Was Kovacic in that group before?

No.

The only captains I seem to remember since Pep era began are:

Kompany, El Mago, Kun Aguero, Fernandinho, Gundo, Ruben, KDB, Walker, Rodri, Bernardo and Erling.

Someone feel to correct me if I'm wrong.

I do remember Stones wearing the armband when none of the other captains were on the field.. probably due to seniority.

I'd take nothing for granted.
There are several players who have to get their futures sorted out before Gundogan.
I can see a few jumping before they are pushed.

Is that Gundogan that’s got another year on his contract and is currently in America for the World Club Cup, or a different one?
