Captain for next season | Bernardo confirmed (pg11)

Giving the captaincy to someone who freely admits he's running down his contract to walk on a free at the end of this season doesn't seem the greatest idea.

I still think Pep walks at the end of this year
Kdb run down his contract too, many of our legends did.

Bernardo won the right to do it, IMO.
Good choice from Pep. Bernardo is our heart and soul, City through and through.

When seen those four picks for captain and when pep he will choose we all new who he would pick! Silva might of dropped off last 18 months to 2 years but he always puts 100% effort workrate in more that most! We will have to get used to him paying 90% of games this season too.. he plays midfield not on the right am fine with it too..

I can see where you're coming from, but I'm alright with it.
Nothing about how Pep is handling anything screams "long term planning" to me and I'm concerned we see the late stage Pellegrini malaise kick in where everyone knows hes off so go through the motions.

It doesn't matter. He won't play every week. When he does play, though, he has a personality of a fighter.
So he's picked a captain that won't be playing every week? Whats the point in that?

His personality of a fighter is irrelevant to a rebuild if his commitment levels are "I'm off for free in the summer lads".

It should have been Haaland

Rodri or Ruben Dias for me

Bernie is the ideal Club captain this year, he’s done his chops and fought like fuck for this team and despite having been played into the dirt still has all his feistiness.

He never starting more than 15 PL games this season imo so the team captaincy is another matter.

Agree, he’s been one hell of a player for us! Only problem I have with him, and it’s the only negative I see in him, is that he controls the tempo of our games, as in slowing it down kills the breaks. What we’re hearing from Pep, though, is that he wants us to play quicker and with Pep’s assistant, Pep, we should do so!

How about we give Bernie a chance before he gets thrown to the wolves?
He’s a winner and has other winners in the Captains group.
Whats to say he doesn’t sign another contract?
I, for one, think he’s a good choice, leads by example on and off the pitch.
A consummate professional.
Respected and loved by his teammates.
I’m hoping (and expecting) we’ll see our Bernie lifting a number of trophies this season.
Bernardo, running down the wing, makes the blue boys sing,
Lifting cups for Man City….. Bernardo
Looking forward to the game later, hopefully a winning game for our new captain.
Come on you blue boys.

What a fucking disgrace Walker has been. Thick guy spews nonsense whenever he opens his mouth.
Made the greatest manager of the generation to change a long lasted tradition.

You need both: enforcers and pausa players. There's a clear bias in English football in favour of pace over control, which goes some way in explaining why Pep has achieved more than other managers: the first domestic treble/quadruple, 4 in a row, everything... Last season, for obvious reasons, we lost the balance. But this new emphasis on speed we are hearing about won't change Pep's philosophy. Bernardo stands for a key aspect of the latter being the ideal pausa player.

Haaland bottled a penalty in a final and is still a kid. He lost his head in the Arsenal games. That’s who you want as captain?

Have you ever been captain to pretend you know better than Pep? He's captained Barcelona, guess he knows a little bit more than fans on the net.

A twitter account that reports information. One that is actually considered to be reliable. So, it’s not ‘someone saying something on twitter’. It is a genuine report.

This might be the most concerning thing I have ever read in here. Which says a lot.
