Sorry if I have made a mistake here, does anyone think the rason we are playing poor could be to do with the captain? I think it could be the problem that we dont have a captain who can lead a nation. The only one who has led our team to most wins in the last 25 england games is terry. I know what terry did to bridge was unforgivable and he is a cnut for it but in my eyes he is the perfect leader for us at the world cup and he should be reinstated.

That would only mean anything if each player had had an equal number of games as captain.

Rio has only been the captain 5 times for england

That's my point - how can we say that Ferdinand wouldn't be as successful a captain as Terry, when the Cockernee knobhead has had the armband on three times as many occasions?

You could argue that Ferdinand has a better win percentage, so he's clearly better.

The captain doesn't lead the nation. All the players are senior professionals who understand different roles on a football pitch. They play according to the managers plan. The captain is just a figurehead.

The captaincy fiasco has just highlighted one issue for me. Professional footballers who are picked for their country and aspire to captaincy could fill Wembley Stadium entirely with their over-inflated egos.

The French seem to be in the same boat. Evra captain - Gallas' nose out of joint.

Gallas' nose is always out of joint, I don't think he's ever happy. It could be because he's French.

Exactly, the captain exchanges pennants at the start of a game and errrrrrrr, calls heads or tails at a coin toss........that's it.
