Captaincy 2016/17 Season- Who Would You Choose?

Would've done this as a poll but didn't know how.

So with Pep saying in his press conference today that he would let the players decide who was captain in Kompany's absence, I was wondering what the general consensus with City fans was over who should be in line as Captain?

Last season the hierarchy seemed to be Kompany, Touré, Hart, Kolarov, Zabaleta. This season I doubt we'll see so much of Touré as captain. If it was up to me I'd keep Kompany as first choice with Fernandinho, Hart and Zabaleta in the line. Gundogan is a potential VC as he played that role at Dortmund and I wouldn't be surprised to see Clichy get it.

That said, if Kompany can't stay fit would you consider asking him to step down as captain? I personally am not sure how much difference it makes if the captain is on the pitch or not.
 
I would prefer to see it given to someone that has been at City for a while. Fernandinho seems very much respected by team mates despite being a bit of a joker so I think he'd be a good candidate. He's also likely to be on the team sheet for all big games which I think is key. Zabaleta is unlikely to feature consistently (and might be off in any case).

If we were to sign Bonucci he'd be a great candidate but I think for squad harmony Fernandinho is an excellent choice as he seems loved by the whole squad. Pep has got it spot on letting the team pick, an excellent way of him seeing who is most respected (outside of Kompany). I think Hart would get a few votes as well, but I'd prefer an outfield player.
 
Whomever the players want or think should be capn. Whoever it is though has a big responsibility from what I have seen Pep knows his influence is negligible during the game, and that's when he is depending upon the leaders on the pitch to make sure his philosophy is adhered to. Quite honestly I think good leadership is something that has been missing for us past few years (When Kompany is out)

I heard someone on radio talking after the England debacle which gave me food for thought. They pointed out that Lloris was calm, collected and solid behind his defence. Whereas Hart is shouting and screaming like a raving lunatic. He's on edge, even his gum-chewing is frantic, the constant YAYA YAYA YAYA we get at every free kick drowning out everything else.

It may not be good, he may have a point.

For me Zabaleta if he's still with us and on form, otherwise agree with Ferdy 1
