My 20 year old daughter paid 1100 as a learner, passed her test and the cheeky fuckers put it up to 2700. The increase in the numbers of uninsured drivers is down to the insurance companies who insist on charging 3000 to insure a car worth 300.

no, the cost of car insurance is down to all the fraudulent criminals who claim for non existent wiplash etc via claims management companies

and young lads pay more than young girls, cos overwhelming statistics prove they are more likely to be in/cause a crash than young girls

insurance premiums are based on probabilty of an outcome happening or not happening, so insurance companies have spent the last 300 years (100 in the case of car insurance) working out the relative probability of shit happpening, and charge premiums accordingly

this bollocks EU ruling means that assessment of risk based purely on gender is no longer allowed

There should be a law stopping greedy GREEDY car insurance companies from hiking the annual premiums when there have been no claims .I have never claimed on my insurance or have any points on my license and i have been driving for over 17 years now . I have always had fully comp but in 2008 some top knob head reversed into me at the traffic lights and caused just under £2000 of damage .He admitted what had happened and when i came to renew, the first quote i received was higher but not too bad ,then i realised i hadn't put down the incident ( as it wasnt my fault ,and i had never claimed before, i didnt think i had to ) i could not believe it ??? it had gone up £300 quid per year!!! PISS TAKE .We have no choice but to pay these prices as it is the law and as i have a financed car it has to be fully comp . I can see why many people fuck off from this country which was once great britain.Now it seems its rip off britain ! good luck all you newbys on the road .

Insure the car and base it on the value.

Anyone with a full licence and with the owners consent can then drive the car, simple.

Insurance and insuring the "Driver" is a fucking rip off!
