Hi all

I have a 54 plate MK5 VW Golf (1.6 FSi).

The car with the full service history but no owners handbook. On the way back from football tonight a red flashing warning light came up on my dash (top right hand corner) which looked like either a temperature issue, or a water or oil level issue.

The operating temperature of the car on the temp gauge was as normal, which makes me wonder if its a level problem. Can anyone advise on what it could be? As simple as it sounds, its like water with a temperature or level sticking upwards from it.

I've tried a google search but to no avail. Thanks to anyone able to help.

Going to check the water level in the morning, too dark outside at the moment. It had a long life service about 3 months ago, so thought it would have been ok!!

And no, engine hasn't overheated. It happened 30mins from home and the engine temperature remained constant throughout.

Like it Stonie!!

Thanks for the advice everyone, much appreciated.
