we’ve played better than every team in every game we’ve played in this year, our standards have been so fucking high we haven’t been as good as our new best. However without a fit striker for most of the season & woeful finishing we have found ourselves in the chasing pack.

We have currently the best defence in the league, the best striker in prem history returning along with proven top class forwards that will find form soon I’m sure.

You really think we have played better than everyone we have played......really?

I sincerely disagree.

If you are talking about style of play then I can "maybe" understand what you are talking about but as for effectiveness then absolutely not. However, even our style of play is becoming very passive and no where near as aggressive as it used to be. Some of it is actually becoming boring to watch as its so slow and sideways all the time....previously when we did this we did it with pace of pass, intricut interplay and movement and movement forward.
The stats show you this...we have scored a lot less than at the same point last year and teams have always defended deep against us

The reason is our midfield not being creative enough alongside the lack of striker issue - I think our stats show that we are being less creative (not surprising with the loss of `David Silva and to a lesser extend Sane (who was instrumental the season before last - though I understand why Pep had a problem with him)

Teams are playing with 10 in the box so it’s hard finding space & of course Silva mg favourite ever player was crucial to this. Sane less effective when no space to run into.

You like stats so -
Do we have the best defence?
Have we missed more chances than any other team?
Do you think the Rags & Dippers were better than us?
