I like that photo. It doesn't actually prove your point in itself, but I still like it (and I'll take your word for it on your point, by the way). By God but the estuary is broad at that point.
So that's where the rags nearly did their giant-killing act, eh? So near and yet so far.

Yeah, I went there a couple of times during the days when Kit Symons was with us, and it's a really tight little ground, some might even call it quaint ..... at least under this manager they have now Grimsby seem to be playing some pretty good stuff and heading in the right direction, and that win last night will have brought them to the attention of fans worldwide, but back then they were pretty much a club that few people noticed .... i know we got a 1-1 draw in one of the games I attended there, and I'm pretty sure we lost the other game 4-1.

It's a rugged fishing town, there are some tough characters in Grimsby, and some of their fans were more than up for trouble, even in those days .... i think it was the 90s.
