Carabao Cup - Oxford United (A) 25/09 1945hrs

Alright lads, Oxford fan in peace.
You will probably only get about 12/1300 tickets. That’s the maximum we’ve ever given to away fans even when we played the Geordies at home in the fa Cup a couple of seasons ago. You’ll be on the right hand side of the North stand on the side of the pitch. Excellent view by the way. We’ve had talk of a temporary stand behind the goal before but it’s never happened so just watch this space on that one. It will defo sell out and tickets for the Home areas will only go to people on our data base before the draw was made. Plenty to eat and drink next to the ground but parking is limited although free. The streets near the ground are locals only and you’ll get clamped if you don’t have a permit thingy. Traffic is dire on the oxford ring road at that time of night too so public transport is your best bet. Welcome to oxford!

Thanks very much Oxford for the helpful info.

So Thursday night for TV with Brighton @home on the Saturday. I guess only a couple of players will start in both games.

Anybody contemplating going by road better start planning now. I have passed the Kasam stadium signs on the A34 several times in the last few years on my way to Southampton and the journey can be a bloody nightmare.

My route:-
  1. M6 - This is being converted to a smart motorway and can be horrendous with roadworks most of the way and the possibility of sever delays if there is an accident or breakdown. Last time I went we were stationary near the Keele services for 15 minutes and I only averaged 30 mph up to the M6 toll road.
  2. M6 Toll Road - This is an absolute joy and reminds me of how motorways were when they first appeared in the 60's, a bit pricey but worth every penny.
  3. M42 - Birmingham ring road which is a smart motorway and providing on what time of day you get there can be OK with 50mph speed limit normally.
  4. M40 - This is fine unless there is an accident (which I have seen) then it is stop start.
  5. A34 - Oxford by pass which is always busy and can be virtually a car park at certain times.
Give yourselves plenty of time just in case of accidents or breakdowns.

My lad is proper pissed off, lives down there and has been hoping for a chance to travel 15 mins and watch us there for years rather than 4 hours to get up here for games....only problem is he's in Oman working for a couple of months.
