Carabao Cup Semi Final Games - 24/25/31 Jan / 1 Feb '23

Starting to become a cross of WWE and Basketball.
I’ve noticed Arteta has brought this thing in where he gets his players to randomly lie on the floor pretending to be injured so he can have a ‘Time Out’ on the touch line with the rest of the team all running over to huddle around him.

The time wasting cheating ****.

While the fans paying nearly £70 a game are sat in the stands watching a load of blokes stand still on some grass for 45% of the game (or for £31.50 of your ticket)

It’s gone too far now. The game has gone and I don’t think it’s ever coming back.

Nowhere else seems to give a shit about it other than English fans. Everywhere else, even within our own clubs and tv stations, just seems to accept it and skirt around it or brush it under the carpet.

With all that soft arse bollocks rolling around and staying down when there’s nowt up with them, timewasting, appalling ball in-play stats, plus the shambolic use of VAR, this sport is so far away from being as good as it should be that it’s getting to the point where it’s going to be unwatchable soon.
It’s pretty much there now. The shithousery seems to be getting worse. Like Mings whispering to his keeper to take a dive at Villa knowing full well a keeper can get “treatment” without needing to come off. the bogus head injuries, players not needing a trainer or sitting down knowing they are getting subbed and killing the momentum. Fucking awful, City have it right most of the time, batter a few goals in and there won’t be any issues with time wasting.

Plus having 5 fucking subs doesn't help.
Kills the game dead. Games are pretty much over as soon as that happens. All momentum and tactics are lost, games just turn into a training session for the last part of the game.

Indeed, but absolutely no way will they win it,they will want the rags getting that first trophy under ten Haag ..

I don't know, one thing - between now and the Carabou Final Manchester United have 6 games, Newcastle 3, that might make a difference. Also Erikson out is a key factor.

Guimeranch 3 match ban means he next plays in the final, so he will be rested and he wont get injured in the PL cos he's suspended and he is such a key player.

I have noticed that, as well. And players--as many of us predicted--have begun to use the head injury rules to stop play, often forward players going down in the opposition box when their team has lost the ball and their defence is likely exposed to a counter. It's happened many times in the last few weeks, including to us.

What I find most interesting, though, is that the timewasting has seemingly gotten worse after the WC when they (at least in the group stages) attempted to mitigate the tactics with additional added time.

I am fairly certain that ball-in-play statistics would bear that out, as well. The Everton match alone will have brought down the league average after the restart by several minutes.

football special tonight at 11 must of missed the city ones
To be fair they’re celebrating the loser Newcastle team, even though they were so near yet so far. Good team.

As for this final. The fook’n green man, man.
