Anything other than a convincing win will have people asking questions of the squad and there mentality no pissing about but would look at protecting some of our flair players from the obvious kicking we are going to get

Ederson

Walker
Otamendi
Vinny
Delph

Fernandinho
Gundogan
D Silva

Sterling
Aguero
Sane
Put Foden instead of Gundogan and Id be very happy with that

If Mendy and Danilo are fit I’d start both around VK and Otamendi. The 2 Silvas in midfield, with Sergio, Mahrez and Sane. The only question would be over Fernandinho, I would consider Stones at DM.

I genuinely don’t know if there’s much pace in the Cardiff side but if there isn’t then Stones at DM for me.

My big worry would be that this is the kind of match that could be a Wigan repeat. The best way to avoid this is to be utterly clinical. We’ll need to match their work rate and show a little aggression. It’s the kind of match we need to show done personality and character as a team.

Well, Gundogan has tweeted his disappointment after last nights game.
It reads very sincere to me & I absolutely think we’ll hammer Cardiff, I mean seriously hammer them.

Ederson
Walker Kompany Otamendi Delph
Fernandinho Silva Bernardo
Sterling Aguero Sane

Think we'll bounce back with Pep back in the dugout, Sterling and Sanes pace will be key and we have to go with the two more physical centre backs. 2-0 City. Hopefully if it's comfortable we can take Fernandinho off after 60 and rest him for next weekend. Would be good if Danilo could get some minutes as well as we need a full squad now it's back to 2 games a week.

Foden for Gundogan, Mahrez for D.Silva and Kun for Jesus. Anyone know when Danilo is back?

Gundogan against a physical Cardiff side, no thanks. He'll back out of every 50/50, actually every 70/30 in his favour.

Two of Sane, Kun, Mahrez will come into starting line up. Sterling and Bernardo should start imo. Wouldnt mind start Mahrez in D. Silva position. And Bernardo in a deeper CM role, and then we can still have a trio of Sterling, Sane, Kun.

Cardiff will be paying extremely deep probably 541, having 3-4 midfielders dropping deep and making sure there wont be empty area to run into or making some slick passing. Also overcrowding wing areas so there wont be much place for Sane or Mahrez on the wings to do their trickery.

We need someone to move centrally closer to Kun otherwise he will be constantly watched by 2 or even 3 defenders. Mahrez starting in middle position behind Kun could be a surprise.I know he is not 100% yet, but trust him more to score if he has a chance to shoot and score from it around the box than D. Silva or Bernardo or Gundogan at the moment.

Unlocking tight defences, providing some magic too decide games imo is why we wanted Mahrez. Having one more very creative player in there when its hard too create anything.

Would be a very attacking line up with Fernandinho left alone a bit for all the defensive duties of course but expect us to have huge possession.

Foden for Gundogan please.

I sense Leroy will be looking for payback...

Foden will find it too tough physically against Cardiff, this is not the game we should be throwing in one of our brightest young talents and risk getting him injured against a team of thugs, we need all our central midfielders to be fit, due to KdB's absence.
