We all knew Bob would be a pragmatic manager deep down. You can't argue with his record as a coach. There is no way I want him to leave, because I truly believe he WILL become our best ever manager.I know it rubs right against the grain of the fella, but he HAS to become more attack orientated. We've all seen Italian football and how the pattern of each match is identical:slow patient build-up in midfield, then burst into life in the final third and its down to who has the most clinical finisher. We've got the best squad of players in the country who aren't being utilised to their potential.I think Bob might be over-estimating the capabilities of most premiership defenders.Personally, the only thing that pissed me off about the arse result was the scoreline. It's not like we've got Samaras and Bradbury up front,we've got players who can scare the shit out of anyone in europe.Instead of worrying about what other teams can do to us,we should be letting them be shitting it about what we'll do to them.

yeah we've got the slow, patient build up thing but it's the bursting to life in the final third that we are struggling with.Without carlos we seem to be toothless imo.

Just a thought, but while all these players have to gel and the right formation played the only way Bobby can see if the players are taking in the instruction is in a real time match.

They can practise all they want on the training pitch but in the game we have all seen how things conspire to go against you.

I agree totally with the OP, just wish some would give Mancini and the players the time.

It's just this "avoid defeat at all cost" attitude that bothers me and most Blues I speak to.The only time you get punished by pushing high up the pitch is when your playing against the likes of Bellamy,Henry etc..I just fear that the over cautious approach might cost RM his job.

-- Sat Nov 06, 2010 11:11 pm --

The thing is though Prima, the money we've got has become a blessing and a curse. The players are worrying that one mistake will see them replaced in the next transfer window, the manager must feel that a run of defeats will result in the sack and the fans are thinking (well the ones I know) that we should be doing far better.

Is that really bobs game plan though? I'm not so sure.I know he seems to favour the holding midfielders but I really don't think he is as defensive as some people say.At the moment I just think there is no confidence up front. We seem to make good chances then blow it with the final ball.

That's the problem Shaun, nobody knows his gameplan. If we get beat trying(thats why I highlighted the arse game) then the fans don't offer too much criticism. But the manner of the defeat against Wolves just left us scratching our heads and our many critics jizzing their pants. My philosophy is ,if your going to get beat,at least get beat trying.

I agree so therefore the players must take the majority of the blame for the wolves game and not RM.There just seems to be a distinct lack of confidence especially from milner SWP and ade.I don't think he would have scored that hat-trick against prem defenders.Only my opinion though.
