I don't do the all inclusive. I get a nice condo beachside. There's several on the beach right next to the blue parrot. You can stumble onto the beach and give some kind 20 pesos for an umbrella and 2 chairs and have him bring you buckets of iced beer and chips all day.

www.playapalms.com is pretty affordable, very nice, and with an amazing location - walk to all the local bars, restaurants, shops and is beachfront.

I'm the same. It's a great way to get a genuine feel for a place and its people.

I would say that Barbados didn't have an "edgy" side to it beyond all nighters in pop-up rum shacks. Very chilled.

Me and the wife spent a great day in the Bridgetown pool hall and Barbados is about as 'edgy' as Grange over Sands.
 
I got married in Tobago.............NEVER FUCKIN AGAIN!













The Island was nice though :)
