carling cup final demichelis or lescott?

I don't mind. Neither has been consistent enough to guarantee a start, but if either one plays one of their better games, we'll be solid enough.
Pretty much this.

I don't like the stick Demichelis receives from City fans sometimes. I think, like Garcia, he's easy to channel frustration through because he misplaces a few passes and he's bit slow. Personally, I think he passes the ball well and reads the game better than any other CB we have at the club (minus Vinnie, obviously). I'd like for Lescott to start as a reward for his commitment, but if Demichelis starts I won't be upset.

To borrow from William munny, deserves got nothing to do with it.

Lescott is a good defender, but a dreadful footballer. He looks terrified whenever he has the ball at his feet or if someone is threatening to pass to him. That's not a championship winning centre half.

However, Sunday I suspect will make more rudimentary demands on the defence and as such physical strength, heading ability and well timed tackles are what we need.

On that basis, lescott for me. Just hope kompany or toure are five yards away every time he has to make a pass...

Apart from the fact he was....

only messing mate, though as he's played every one so far, and weve let in 1 goal, he must deserve his place.

If he plays Panti because he is the cup keeper but not Lescott then that is incredibly unfair, not to mention Lescott has played every single minute up to the final. Must start for that alone, regardless of Pellers rating Demi higher.
Agree with this. I can't see how people can advocate Pants playing, but not Lescott. As stated Lescott is the only player to have played every minute of this Cup competition.

It's a good point, too easily forgotten mate! Did he ever look as petrified by a football that season than he does this? I wonder if he's become self conscious to the point of incompetence by those around him and both of the previous managers fancying others rather than him. Against Barcelona as a recent example he looked like he was controlling a land mine!

Joels all day long,I feel gutted for the bloke the way he's been treated over the last 12 month.
He's been treated fine, its football, he's not as good as he was, and there has never been any sentiment in football.

He's very very well paid, and while he'd love to be first choice, he knows he's not good enough to be, but, and especially in a team fighting on 4 fronts, he'll play more than enough games. If we win on Sunday, he'll have won all 3 domestic trophies at one club, that's an amazing feat for any player, at a single club, never mind in a career with numerous clubs.
