Carlo Ancelotti Sacked by Bayern

Got to agree with those ramming this down the necks of mainly media and i suppose opp fans about Pep having it easy. It was always a load of bitter nonsense but you will not see many if any pipe up and hold their hands up, it winds me up that does. I was adamant Ibrahimovic would do fuck all here, i was wrong and held my hands up (still think he hampers their squad more than helps though).

The chatter across the board though was pretty clear, Pep had it ready made for him and could not possibly fail. Nobody acknowledged going into somewhere who at the time were imperious and maintaining that level is at least as hard as reaching it. What is is SAS soldiers are told when given their cap "Remember it is harder to keep than get".

The humbling by Real Madrid last season hurt, but last night PSG made Bayern look an incredibly old and vulnerable side, one which was exposed time and time again and which seemed to have no answer to PSG's pace and energy. You can see the balance of power has shifted, and the Bayern board is probably culpable for not seeing the writing on the wall.

Either Thomas Tuchel now or some kind of interim solution until end of the season and then the preferred Nagelsmann.

My preferred solution - would like to have van Gaal back until summer as he is the best when it means to structure a team, teach a system and passing, bring in discipline and get young players in. Our players can handle a coach like him (apart from Ribery). That might not bring immediate success but I prefer Nagelsmann to Tuchel because of his personality (Tuchel might last longer than until summer but will not last very long in Munich - he is a great coach but will not be able to handle the team on a long run, the press and especially the bosses) - and like this there is really something there to build on. I know about his bad sides - but I just want him for some months and am not interested in this year's result but the effect for the future. Pep built on what he left twice...

Ancelotti did not build on that what we had - the mechanisms, possession play - even the passing - were fading more and more.

You know now how Pep works...

Just imagine to have a coach that does 5-8 minutes video preparations prior to the match, does not do much fitness work, does not have a plan B and let's everybody play like he wants and thinks that tactics are overrated.
Is that how ancelotti works in his training methods. Which you have described down below.

They are an aging team yeah, this should have been sorted though really. They have not even done bad in their league so this feels a bit knee jerky from their suits.

Cheers! Nagelsmann has been doing a very good job at Hoffenheim, not hard to see why Bayern would be interested. Has he indicated any interest in the position previously?
Oh yes, big time. He was quoted as saying, "Yes, I'm happy here. I would also be extremely happy at Bayern Munich," around a few months ago. I think they'll have an interim manager until the summer, then Nagelsmann will be in the Bavarian capital.

I'm sure there were some people on this forum that would have preferred Ancelotti to Pep at City.

This starts to put Pep's "failure" at Bayern into some perspective.

Surprised to see him sacked this early, he was supposed to win them the CL :)

Bayern are declining. All of their best players are 29/30+ and haven't been replaced.

Said it before Bayern fans and their board have unrealistic expectations. They won't win the CL anytime soon. They are getting further and further away.
