Got a nice little applause from the crowd, it's good that we appreciate the players who tried to help us out when we were shit no matter how bad they were. I bet a lot of the new fans didn't even know who he was lol.

Find it funny though how Distin gets such bad booing when he did so much more than Nash to help us out but I suppose people have there reasons for that, although I'd never boo anyone to wear the City shirt personally (bar maybe Robinho if he ever comes back ;)), I joke, I joke.

I remember him getting carried off laughing when the fans invaded after the Chelsea match.

The worst thing we did in summer 2003 is sell him with Seaman and Weaver both being injured, cost us 10 points. However he did not think Keegan signing another 'star' keeper was giving him a fair chance.

I don't know what Distin did wrong really. I thought he was superb for us, and left us because we were going nowhere at the time. How could anyone blame him for that? Even now when you look at him, you can't say he's made a bad career move. He is a superb centre half in a superb defensive unit.

As for Nash, I always thought he was a decent enough keeper, and must still be decent to be at Everton.

It might've been the season we were relegated under Royle (00/01) or maybe a couple of years later, but I reckon I remember him making an absolutely out-of-this-world save/generally stunning goalkeeping performance in a match near the end of the season when we were fighting relegation.. have I imagined this?

i always liked him was a class keeper imo but i still remember the game against Newcastle away when he kicked the ball into Shearer whilst trying to clear it lol.

Distin was a prize **** when he played for Pompey at our place kissing his badge in front of the home fans will never be forgiven for that

That's kind of pathetic.

He beat his chest in the 3-1 match saying he still loved city, the badge kissing was a myth. The only people who were able to see it were the ones looking at the away fans all match, who were giving him abuse before his chest beating anyway.

Wern't people booing him before that though, I don't see how people could just forget him keeping us up (cos it was down to him, Barton, Dunne and James if we're honest) and the 4-5 years service he gave us (including a POTY award).

I might be totally wrong though and he deserved it anyway or didn't get booed until he kissed his badge.

Who cares about badge kissing and chest thumping? That is just a commonplace empty gesture. Fans read way too much into it.

The South Standers said he did it in front of the South Stand, which I didn't see.

Not heard about the North Stand incident before, unless it wasin the match after, i.e. 6-0 one.

i saw it he clearly did it to piss us off, and i dont get what some peoples problem is with the people next to the away fans having a bit of banter... its a good laugh really.

He did it because he was getting dogs abuse off some City fans, don't know why these fans get all precious about it when a player reacts.

was another stupid decision by keegan to let him go. was a good keeper. made an epic penalty save against burnley which set us on our way to winning the league.

It was in the 3-1 victory, I seen it, he did it intentially to be a dick. Hense the Distin whats the score chants after he did it.

Always liked Carlo. Came to pro football late from non-league and so had a very different attitude and perspective. Not only writer travel guides, but think he runs a tour company. Backpacking in South America etc. He has travelled all over the world with his wife. Not exactly the typical footballer getting smashed in Ayia Napa
