The South Standers said he did it in front of the South Stand, which I didn't see.

Not heard about the North Stand incident before, unless it wasin the match after, i.e. 6-0 one.

It was in the 3-1 victory, I seen it, he did it intentially to be a dick. Hense the Distin whats the score chants after he did it.

yea it was infront of north, where i sit... he was wound up and started kissing his shirt and all that, obviously red rag to a bull for football fans, taunts ensued.

-- Fri Mar 26, 2010 11:59 am --

It might've been the season we were relegated under Royle (00/01) or maybe a couple of years later, but I reckon I remember him making an absolutely out-of-this-world save/generally stunning goalkeeping performance in a match near the end of the season when we were fighting relegation.. have I imagined this?

No you didnt mate it was against west ham and im sure it was the season they went down. He had a stormer but he dropped a proper clanger in sumat like the 86th minute, where he parried the ball right into lampards feet only for him to miss from 5 yards out. We held on in the end and won 1-0

That match Carlo he had a blinder in was West Ham at home in the relegation season.

I didn't join in with the abuse Distin got on his return with Pompey but he did kiss the Pompey badge in front of the South Stand. I saw it and it was a bit sad really.

i sent distin a message over myspace about this at the time, i asked him what he meant by it and why he did it, this is not clarkie bait, it's real, and it is actually him, i ddon't need to go into details that i know it's him, anyway just signed into myspace for the first time in like 8 months! lol gone through my inbox, and found these messages he sent me.

in other words just because i m a sportman i have accept abuse...? sorry but you ve picked up the wrong one then. i treat people the way they treat me and don t worry for me, you can boo me as long as you want, it will only make me stronger...i like city what ever the fans reactions...take care

seems like i m not like the other players then... you know what, looking at some faces in the crowd i wonder who was the most pissed off. by reacting like this they might thought i ll be impressed and i ll look at my feet but that s not my character, i always face the problems and don t run away, if they wanted a reaction they had it but maybe not what they expected....by facing them i just wanted to make clear that i wasn t impress at all and by touching my heart ( and not the portsmouth logo who s not on this side ) and sending them kisses i wanted them to understand that what ever they do it will not change what i feel about city....the reallity is they booed me because they like me otherwise they will not bother and i reacted exactly for the same reasons....

take care, Sylvain

have a look where is the badge on the black kit and you ll understand... i didn t accept the fan booing us when i was still playing for city so now i m not playing for city anymore there no chance i ll accept it...sorry if i shocked you but that s the way i am...thanks for communicating and trying to understand take care

I've never understood the different reactions James and Distin get at our place. James broke his contract and went to Pompey for more money after being tapped by Redknapp, albeit after inventing a spurious tale about family reasons. Distin honoured his contract and left on a Bosman at a time when we had no manager, no money and were in the throes of takeover rumours and uncertainty. He was a good player for us and did nothing wrong except overreact to abuse from people with short memories

I'll actually second that.

For whatever reason I never really took to James so when he left the way he did it really left a bad taste. That's just me though, I respect the fact that he was a real favourite for others.
