Ha indeed. Good times. Looking back at Brahim I think his biggest problem is that he simply hasn't grown. Was watching him the other day for AC Milan and he spends *so* much time on the floor. Not willingly - just simply because he's not got the strength to be anywhere else. Even just two inches taller and I think he'd find life a lot, lot easier. Or even if he was a tad more electric with his pace. If he had two extra inches of height and half a yard more pace he'd be exceptional. Obviously you don't fully know when you sign a 14/15 year old where they'll end up, but its a shame. Still, should have a solid career, just maybe not the levels that City, Barca and everyone else thought he'd have.
Around about the time Dias came in, we had a bunch of young kids from Spain etc, who were all technically excellent & I thought, very very promising due to their skill & cleverness.
But I expected that the plan was, that they get bigger & stronger, not that 4 years later, they are actually further behind others the same age, physically.
I think we were, well perhaps 'conned' is the wrong word, but we are sat there thinking 'wow this kid will be sonething when he grows up, except he doesn't grow up & the kid he was running rings round at 16 for West Brom, ends up playing in the Premier League.
If we think back, we are talking a fair old number of players here. Small, medium paced, technically excellent, often hard working & not a cat in hells chance of playing PL football unless they grow significantly bigger or wider.
And the latest kid from Barca looks like another one. You look at Barca's team on video, 'spot the City kid', well obviously he'll be the one who looks ten years old, 'yep, it's him'.
I'm not comfortable with it at all. It's like our version of 'Black Ops' money, going missing to unaccountable people who are doing what the fuck they want with it.
Borges btw: Impressed so far, kids playing pass & move like under Vieira again.
