yes he can. him messi and aguero all play up top. maradona relies on him and messi

Last 5-6 games i've seen it's been Messi and Higuain. I think Maradonna started Palermo ahead of Tevez for that do or die game against Peru.

I've not followed the recent Argentina games, but i know that about 6-9 months ago, he was always starting on the bench. They have Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Milito and Tevez, ffs!!!!! That is unbelievable competiton for places! Maybe he's forced his way back into the side recently, i don't know to be honest. But he's been on the bench quite a lot over the last year, i know that.

Robinho is more talented than Tevez.

(perhaps another rethink on the thread title is in order? lol )

100%, might aswell just change it to Messi worlds best.

Not sure he's our most talented player ever yet Die Hard, but he's certainly the most committed out of the current squad, and as for Adebayor I would not give two shits if he walked away tomorrow

For my 35 years of watching us (obviously a lot more since the EPL started since all games are shown) and from what I've seen of Carlos
yes he hasn't played that many times for us but if he keeps going for a couple
more seasons he will easily be my choice for no.1.
In terms of work rate no. 1
skill no.2 just behind Kinkladze but if he keeps going for a little longer easily no.1.
Carlos takes chances when others would not, he takes players on usually 2-3 at a time when others would play the safe ball he tries to create a goalscoring opportunity nearly every time.
It's a real pleasure to watch him and I'm so glad he is ours.

And Weah was world player of the year was he shit? He was when he was with us.
He doesn't walk into the Argentinean team and compared to some of them, yes he is. Give those players respect. They are City legends.

He has had a good start, let him develop.

yes he does walk into the argentine team

Great stats.

it doesn't matter, just enjoy him for what he is now, a world class player who really wants to do it at City. The way things are City will probably sign another star next season and we'll be having the same argument all over again.

While he's only been here a short time I think the OP is in his right to pose the question.

More than that though, our best players now are likely to be better players than any of the past greats.

The premier league is now a world league, and with Spain, probably has a large proportion of the best players in the world. Great as they were, our heroes from the 50s, 60s and 70s and 80s would not have stood out in the same way if they had the competition we have now.

If the league was as cosmopolitan as it is now, only a couple of our wonderful late 60s side would likely be in the team.

We've seen it in recent years - look how much SWP stood out before he left for Chelsea. He's come back, arguably a more rounded players who is more of a fixture for England - but he's now just one of many fantastic players.

Bell is usually considered our greatest ever, and if he was born 40 years later he may have graced our current side, but he wouldn't have stood out as he did in the 70s.

I think you would probably find that those players would have stood out in any era. That is why they are called greats.
I would love to see some of todays stars, having smoked 20 woodbines and eaten a chippy meal for breakfast do some of the running Bell did.

Seriously, they would have pissed it, because the opportunities and knowledge we have now, would have been available for them.

It's why its difficult to compare players over years, but great players would stand out in any era.

CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He,s already gone beyond some of those mentioned.
However,Bell,Lee and Summerbee were (are legends) but King Carlos is getting pretty close to the Famous Three.
