Again this is the extreme levels we are talking about and I imagine the same people have sent a text or answered a call whilst driving. Looking at the worst case scenario of the driver then yes it could have been fatal and whilst stupid if it had happened that wasn't his intention. Carragher on the other hand has premeditated his attack, getting the window down and spitting a load of goz at a child, nice.

Has he?

He may have seen an attractive young lady who he thought was saying "hello" to a football celebrity, so he wound down the window only to hear the bloke in the car taking the piss so he lost his temper and spat at the car and for which there is no excuse
But there's nothing in that video which shows it's premeditated. If it was, he would have wound the window down and spat immediately

True to be fair, maybe not premediated then. If I was to be as extreme as everyone else you could say what about if the spit hit the driver in the eye and he crashed. I will be labelled silly though but the over reaction to the driver isn't. Funny that.

Carragher takes his eyes off the road and because he is looking sidewards that is extremely dangerous
It's one of the reasons being on the hard shoulder of the motorway is such a dangerous place. Drivers are drawn to the side of the road they are looking, which is another reason why the mobile user is being extremely careless in his actions

The only thing premeditated was the rag **** using his phone to get a reaction. Carragher should have just ignored him but he wound his window down to hear what was being said.

It's all well and good saying no accident was caused by him using his phone but that's not the point, i'd have some sympathy for someone answering a quick call but to actually use the phone to film whilst driving!!

You wont get me defending the guy, I think people have just lost sight with how disgusting an act Carragher carried out because someone was filming it whilst driving. From what you see in the video it is mind boggling he would react that way. He was on sky and didn't lose his rag, he would have spent the majority of his life getting abuse much worse than what's on the video yet that split second he saw red. Weird to understand.

its disgusting - he has been suspended which I don't understand as that is usually pending an investigation - there is clear evidence he did it so he should be out really.

Sky have sacked people for less so I can't see how he would be able to continue.
 
The simple facts are that a man in his forties assaulted a child with a weapon (spit) in a road rage attack.

The question should not be whether he loses his job but whether he should go to prison.
