I've just got myself one of these, but I'm on the verge of returning it under the Mercedes exchange scheme

Whats wrong with it? - your car the one in the pic?

This is identical to mine, E220 CDI Sport in black
It drives beautifully, but fuel economy is nowhere near as good as it is claimed

I do like the AMG mercs and AMG kit mercs at the moment and that looks mean! - What sort of MPG you getting out of it then?

You had a look at 520d M Sport? - One the guys i work with has one and reckons it's more economical than his wife's focus

No car will ever achieve the exact consumption figures the manufacturers publish. And nor is it the manufacturers fault. The tests are done by EuroNCap under lab conditions on a rolling road.

Part of the tests involve running the vehicle at 13mph and then at 85mph, and the consumption figures are based on the average of the two tests. (Very simplified, but you get the gist)

Manufacturers are required by law to publish these figures as correct for their model of vehicle. Even though they know it's bollocks and you cannot hope to replicate them on the road. ie. it is dangerous to run a vehicle at 13mph for several miles on a public road and it's illegal to do 85mph. This is why even your dealership won't achieve the figures either becuase you can't ask a technician to go out and break the speed limit or endager others by travelling so slowly.

Nor do the figures taken into account the effect of 'drag' because 'drag' doesn't occur on a rolling road in a labroratory.

I have got an 52 plate ford focus.

Lovely dint in the back side panel from when someone bumped it in a car park n fucked off (cunts) that aides aerodynamic performance.

Lovely crack in the windscreen where one of my Ex's went a bit crazy n layed into it with a brick gives me something nice to look at if i'm sat in traffic bored.

Gear Stick case/Holder (to give it its full technical name) is hanging off where another lady friend crotched herself on it while we were attempting to get amorous which is an excellent stash place.

All you lads on about your new Beemers or Mercs pffft no character, I prefer the old period features myself ;)

I am a silent partner so that would never occur! anyone who actually thinks I spend day wiping chav sweat from sunbeds is seriously confused.
