Cassette Tapes

back in the day great, nowadays completely pointless and shit.

Vinyl I can understand for the artwork and sound quality if not played much and looked after.

Making a compilation tape for somebody else was a real labour of love as well, especially if you were making one for a girl. One poor track selection and any chance of a fumble up her jumper was gone!
It could take ages getting not just the track selection but the running order right.

Creating playlists these days in an age of digital music is a piece of piss but it was much harder work creating a compilation tape from vinyl.


the mix tape which jamie wright made for me in 1989 is up there in the top five romantic guestures ever received.
might nip up to my mums tomorrow and see if i can find it :-)
 
I remember that commercial for ...can't remember which cassette it was, but it had Pete Murphy from Bauhaus sitting in a recliner in front of a stereo with sound waves flowing over him
