Sterling and Doku are very similar to me. I would have Sterling all day long though. Doku (And Savinho) dont seem to have that winning mindset, that go get it thing. Lovely footwork sometimes but I am not interested in that, that only comes when you are confident (Or Messi), its what they do off the ball and I see no defensive intelligence in them both.
Yesterday watching Savinho and Gaurdiol (Might have been Lewis) both defend, pointing at the same player that ghosted in behind them both was alarming, jeez get that shit sorted out.
But overall I think our collective football intelligence has gone down. I watch Bernard (And a couple of others) and he can see the dangers (And opportunities) maybe 2 passes ahead sometimes, he goes into that space or danger area and makes use of himself as much as possible. He probably wont even get the ball but he has made space or cutoff a pass/attack. Doku, Savinho, Nunes, dont do that, they seem to be thinking a lot smaller or maybe dont see the bigger picture. (Savinho, will try dribbles knowing that Walker/RB has gone past him and if he loses it we are in trouble). And I think all of those things have diluted us to a degree. Bad purchases tbh.
