Look everyone seems to be focusing on this Metro crackhead looking journo... forget him, he is simply quoting from the Daily Mail.

What we should be asking is how the Daily Fail has this info about us working on the Cavani deal for so long and it seems very close now.

I have checked Mokbel's success rate and he is a 50/50 kind of journo.. gets quite a bit right but quite a few wrong as well.

The positive is that he has been running the "Man City working hard on Cavani deal" story for quite some time ... he just won't drop it and keeps saying it is Man City has been ahead in the game for his signature since the start. With Mancini looking more and more likely to stay I think Mokbel, despite the shite he has come out with previously, and with his wages talk not mentioning basic but giving a full package info, he might be right about this.

By those standards, whether he is right or not adds no authority to his journalism because you just said he's 50/50... i.e. ("Educated"?) Guesswork

could be guesswork, might not be... some of his sources might be concrete some might total shit. None of us are journo's or in the industry so we don't know jack for sure including you... even you assuming that it "adds no authority" shows you are just making "Educated"? Guesswork like this journo, which just shows how fucking hypocritical we are!

Just read the story and if you don't like it simply move the fuck along and let the optimist sing about and the doomsayers woman about it.

If you didn't notice I am an optimist cos Falcao certainly doesn't look like he his heading our way! :)

According to Tuttosport, Cavani's exit is 100% guaranteed. The problem for City is that Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea also want him. Anyone doubting his quality should have a second look at that list of clubs. :)
I dont think anyone is doubting his quality, they (including myself) are dubious that he wouldnt be the ideal target as he is in a mainly counter attacking team which gives him space etc. we play the complete opposite.
On the other hand from what iv seen he is a world class striker so he 'should' be able to fit it ok.

I see what you're saying, but where does this leave Aguero? Are we going to play with 2 strikers? Is he going to become a wide forward where he's less effective? Will he be ok with that? Because Cavani has one position and one position only, centre forward. And if he turns out to be the next Dzeko no-one is going to want to hear any excuses about it, and it'l be one very costly mistake.

Where is the next Ronaldo? That's who we need to spend big bucks on.

Looks good in the air. Of the 22 goals, 5 were pens.

When we signed, Barry, Milner and Nasri, their goal scoring stats looked great until you noticed the majority were from the spot. That said, Cavani still looks class.

Real Madrid and some other big clubs wanted Kolarov before !

Cavani has just split up with his wife and she's returned to Uruguay. So it's likely that he'll want a change anyway even though his mum says no one will ever love you like naples.

He only needs to ask Sergio

I just hope that there is a chance that we can get Falcao, Cavani is good but Falcao is class above and would be ideal in england.

I think you've missed the point of what I'm saying. If someone gets things right 50% of the time and wrong the rest, then that gives no authority to the idea that he has "sources".

If I said I can guess things 50% of the time right, then you wouldn't pay any attention to me. Hence why if you know that is this guys record, why would you give it any authority.

Nothing to do with optimism, it's basic logic.

As it happens I'm actually optimistic we'll sign on of the two players this thread is about, but that doesn't mean my optimism dictates I MUST hang on one side of the fence where journalists are concerned. I assess each piece of evidence independently, and then if it holds credibility, see it it mutually supports other pieces of independently credible evidence.

Seriously, what's so hard to understand about this?

As for this sentence:

even you assuming that it "adds no authority" shows you are just making "Educated"? Guesswork like this journo

I was merely working with the data YOU presented... lol. I made no guess work whatsoever.
