Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

It's about making a statement as much as anything. The team has failed in its main goals this season and with a new manager coming in it is a great time to revitalise the team. When RVP signed for the rags it meant we were the same team as the previous year (when we won on goal difference) and united had added a goal scorer.

Despite the fact that yes we have a great team and yes we can perform better you always need to make additions to encourage competition in the squad and develop a range of options. We have a great first 11 but we have a one dimensional play. We have no real way of changing things up.

Cavani will add so much to the squad simply through his reputation and what he can do, and that will leave so much more freedom for our other players. I believe we will see Aguero at his best when playing in and around someone like Cavani.

Look at Bayern for example, they have won the champions league and yet are still improving their squad. We need to develop a plan B also, whether that is through Isco and more mobile midfielders, but Cavani as a marquee signing and alongside a new manager will be a major statement to the rest of the league even before we play our first game. We didn't score enough last season, that is the fact of the matter. Our play was one dimensional yes but addressing problem 1 would be Cavani.

You guys are sure trying hard to convince yourself that we won't offload Torres. It's a no brainer. Mourinho is going to want a new striker. Do you honestly think Mourinho will be happy with Torres ? Do you think Mourinho agreed to the job knowing he'll have to start a guy getting 10 goals in the league ? No way. As for the investment in Torres you guys are talking about, that is already a sunk cost now. The sooner we sell him the better chance we have at both getting some money back and getting rid of his wages.
We are a better team than you. You've managed a draw this season and we've beaten you all season.

We can trade two players who are better than anything you can field let alone swap and are more valuable than Torres.

Chelsea would be my third choice. Real first then City if I wad Cavani.

Oh there is no doubt you are better than us. That's never really been debated has it ? Finishing 6th and 3rd in the league would make that obvious. If Cavani makes the decision solely based on which team is better RIGHT NOW, he will choose you. But he won't make that decision like that. At least I think not. What we will argue is that we can build a better team around him. We buy Cavani and a good midfielder and we become just as good as you, if not better. Add to this a legendary manager, and we become a clearly better side.

Nothing is guaranteed obviously. You could get Cavani, and it wouldn't be a complete shocker. Your team makes a lot of sense. Already really good, got rid of a poor manager, and have an owner with a proven commitment to better the team and offer high wages. But in my opinion this is shaping up to be similar to the Hazard saga and it's making me feel really good.

It's going to take more than 2 players and Mourinho to make you clearly better than us.

Try buying a defender! Might help. And when it comes to selling a team or 'project' to a player. We win. You got Hazard because of agent fees which we were not willing to pay. Cavani will not go to Chelsea.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

He is a legend to chelsea fans and to the gullible media try telling hes a legend to real madrid fans.

That's a lovely post but what has it got to do with mcfc ?

You're after Cavani, aren't you?
Yet AC aren't but you are here despite your reasoning you want to talk about players you are after; like I say Lupo I'm not convinced

Haha I enjoyed that. It is an odd situation where we can look down our noses at Milan and believe we have a divine right to top players in the world. Wasn't so many moons ago we based a kit of ours on a certain successful Italian team. Chelsea though. Pfffff.
