You guys are sure trying hard to convince yourself that we won't offload Torres. It's a no brainer. Mourinho is going to want a new striker. Do you honestly think Mourinho will be happy with Torres ? Do you think Mourinho agreed to the job knowing he'll have to start a guy getting 10 goals in the league ? No way. As for the investment in Torres you guys are talking about, that is already a sunk cost now. The sooner we sell him the better chance we have at both getting some money back and getting rid of his wages.

That's a lovely post but what has it got to do with mcfc ?

Try telling that to Torres (or Danny Mills)!!!
He will sit on the money at Chelsea before he ever becomes involved in a player swap with Napoli. You can't force him to leave and he wont. You talk a lot about Mourinho, have you not heard he is coming to City??? :p
It's a no brainer trying to sell Torres you are correct. But it is very hard to sell someone so undesired. You seem to think just because of Benitez Torres will go to Napoli. Chelsea aren't even in this race!
Torres was the most expensive english transfer by a large margin, he was already on good wages at Liverpool who'd been desparate to keep him. You lot must be paying him weekly wages by the potful.

No-one is going to be remotely interested in forking out huge wages for a 28 year old striker (unless they get him for next-to-nothing) who hasn't had a covincing season as a striker at the top level for almost 4 years.

You've got him until 2016 I reckon, similar to Shevchenko, best you'll manage is to loan him out on 50% wages to someone like Milan, Inter etc.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

I wish we would just kill this transfer and save ourselves the embarrassement of him rejecting us 3rd week of August

Ouch.

But, yes... Id take him in a heartbeat as Balotelli's backup for half wages

What I'd like to know who is on the radar if we fail with Cavani ?

Maybe no one,i'd hope we only buy players who improve us from now on.

Hopefully it will just be a better radar for Aguero to rediscover the net next season!

We are a better team than you. You've managed a draw this season and we've beaten you all season.

We can trade two players who are better than anything you can field let alone swap and are more valuable than Torres.

Chelsea would be my third choice. Real first then City if I wad Cavani.

Oh there is no doubt you are better than us. That's never really been debated has it ? Finishing 6th and 3rd in the league would make that obvious. If Cavani makes the decision solely based on which team is better RIGHT NOW, he will choose you. But he won't make that decision like that. At least I think not. What we will argue is that we can build a better team around him. We buy Cavani and a good midfielder and we become just as good as you, if not better. Add to this a legendary manager, and we become a clearly better side.

Nothing is guaranteed obviously. You could get Cavani, and it wouldn't be a complete shocker. Your team makes a lot of sense. Already really good, got rid of a poor manager, and have an owner with a proven commitment to better the team and offer high wages. But in my opinion this is shaping up to be similar to the Hazard saga and it's making me feel really good.

Haha, nothing against Milan - just that the italian clubs seem to be masters at getting bargain signings or bargain loan signings lately ;-)
