The most annoying thing is Chelsea had no interest until recently. It was all about Falcao for them but then Monaco swooped in. Then the Rooney rumours, then the Dzeko rumours... now what seems to be concrete Cavani rumours. If Chelsea had landed one of those players, we could be unopposed right now which would increase the chance of ADL dropping the price or agreeing a swap deal. I hope we still have one ace left up our sleeve, especially as there's no guarantee yet that Chelsea will up their rejected offer.

To be fair, we don't really know that. It's all based on press speculation and conjecture. Who's to say they haven't been monitoring Cavani for a while.

according to the press or some of it, chelski offered 49.3m and allegedly gave napoli a list of fringe players to pick from for cavani? whats the point of that,if you really want him then bid the 53 or 54m whatever it is, it seems the moment someone else might be interested in someone we want,a minor panic appears here, its hazard all over again, weve fcked the league now if we dont get him, according to some they want hulk, rooney and cavani, hulk actually has said chelsea have made me an offer or have interest, the only thing i think cavani has said is chelsea and manchester city both want me? so lets wait and see, fixtures arent even out yet so how can anyone speak about fucking the league up all because of 1 player, you know strikers we already have arent bad you know, personally i think we`ll get him, torres doesnt want to go allegedly they have ba lukaku and god knows who else so how do you fit hulk cavani and rooney into all that this week should be interesting new boss being confirmed at some point,he`ll know who he wants, the bord and owners knwo what we need, lets just have a bit of patience

Some of the best players in Europe now play at City

Yes but not all of them. Therefore we have a problem.

Not what I'm saying. If the journalists are right about Cavani to Chelsea then two summers in a row we haven't been able to get our top target. Just frustrating is all.

We don't know who our top targets are. RVP and Cavani are bluemoons top targets not necessarily the clubs. Rightly or wrongly.

exactly. They would be careless not to.

Chelsea need a forward more than we do. We have Aguero. They don't have anyone that good.

I don't quite get the clamour for Cavani so much. Personally, I think van persie is better than Cavani. Cavani certainly is good, no doubt. But I don't see him adding that much to us. We are quite capable of scoring goals. It's a very simplistic line of thought to assume that throwing more strikers at the equation = goals.

-- Sun Jun 09, 2013 1:14 am --

Re: the guy who said: "it's hazard all over again".

Hazard had an average season in all. In the big games he didn't stand-up. Was poor/garbage against us in all the many games we played.

Lets hope Cavani has an average season for them then.

Who's to say, like Navas (his words that we agreed a deal some four months ago), that Cavani wasn't agreed as far back as then also & that Napoli & Chelsea are both using the situation to help their own causes in getting their main targets? It works for both of them to be seen to be doing business together. No need to panic at all, just let the next few days, weeks & months unfold.

I've seen it numerous times on United forums, when they claim we just go for 'their' targets. As if it's more plausible that we'd base our entire transfer strategy on what they do, and trying to usurp them, rather than all the top clubs knowing about the same players. Tragically, a lot of them genuinely believe it.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

If the Cavani deal stops us getting our other targets such as Isco and Rami then I'm not for the deal at all. The price just seems steep and I believe he will flop like Torres. He's clumsy as shit.
