We have invested far too many hours into securing his signature,as such I cant see us simply walking away and calling it a day.

We are playing the fuckers at their own game now.......

Your move ADL!

I genuinely think that ADL has burnt his bridges on this one. His comments about City were insulting and libellous. Still he has been made a bit of a fool though.

Martin Blackburn (he's actually not that bad) wrote this in The S*n (I know, I know) FWIW: "City sources have indicated they could still move if they feel Napoli will lower their price."

I think it's a case of City's policy changing. We don't need to pay stupid money to get good players anymore and won't get held to ransom by idiots like ADL and KJ. For me, if we have to miss out on Cavani it will have been worth it for future transfer deals.
having said that.....please pay what it takes to get Isco!!!!

Edinson Cavani is a transfer target for some of Europe's biggest clubs this summer, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is not convinced the striker should leave the club.

Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City all want the Uruguay international, though none of the interested parties are yet to activate his £53.7 million release clause.

And De Laurentiis has warned the 26-year-old against leaving Napoli for a club where he may not take centre stage.

"Napoli is a true cradle for Cavani, allowing his inner child to express himself and fulfill his potential," De Laurentiis said at a press conference.

"He knows that he is the star of the show here at Napoli and you never know whether this will also be the case at Real Madrid or anywhere else.

"We have already seen how [Diego] Forlan and [Luis] Suarez have outshone him for Uruguay and how this has affected his goalscoring record.

"I have little doubt that he will take all of this into consideration before making a decision. He will make a decision on his future and we will follow his direction."

I agree with this, I just saw the press conference here in the states and it was brutal to watch. ADL looked like a little pissed off man when he was talking about City. Seems he thought "Big-Rich" City would pay the ridiculous release clause. F**k him and F**k Napoli. If Cavani wants to remain as King Shit, big fish in a little pond(Serie A), so be it.

Personally I believe that initially I think we made an offer but since that original offer was made I think we have done bugger all since and just left it where it is, thats why ADL has stated what he said, I don't think we have moved from first base and are seeing if anyone else wants to take ADL on. As for the player we gave him another week to decide after the confed cup, if he wants to come to City I think we may go back and use that to try and get the price to move down if nothing happens then I think we will walk away.

It is really bullshit that WE can't afford a player! That was really below the belt comment. If not for anything, just to prove that arrogant fool wrong, we should pay his buy-out clause and get him.
