cctv at work

Soz mate but the freedom of information act allows anyone to film anything.

The data ProtectionAct then allows you to request and verify the data held by them.
If the data is incorrect and you tell them, they have to change it.

Problem is the data will be right as its video footage.

The company musy post notices telling people that they are being recorded, the purpose and where to obtain further information.

Alot of unions kick up a stick, cos, erm because they can, but they can't stop it.

also under anti-terrorism legislation. you go down to manchester airport and see if they will let you record a plane taking off. you will have armed police around you quicker than you can say "watch out beadles about...."

In the rooting around I've done over the past hour or so, I've found out: It is illeagal to take still or video pictures of police officers, if it is to be used for planning or commiting a terroist act.

I am trying to find which one wins in law top trumps. i.e. what happens when one law contradicts another, who chooses which one is to be the higher priority.

i think as a general rule of thumb stan...

you can legally film in a public place ,so as long as you are not breaching anti terror laws (open to interpretation and abuse by the police imo)

you cannot film in a private place unless you have the express permission of the land owner, etc.

il let you prove me right or wrong ;)
