Celtic and Rangers potential as PL teams

It wouldn't be all smiles and laughter if they came, however them coming to the PL would only solidify this league as the best in the world. Think about the competition, excitement and the fact anything can happen at anytime. Or am i just deluded and in truth, them coming to the PL would only cause an outbreak in violence?

this, nearly every week there would be a big game.

As a television spectacle it would have appeal for the companies and, therefore, the clubs. For the English supporters attending the games and those poor communities living and working in the environs of the stadia, it would be akin to being transported into a surreal world of bigoted bile twice a season and that should not be allowed to happen. England does not need either of the bigoted behemoths and the EPL would be better served if the Yorkshire and Birmingham clubs regained strength.

The best in the world?

Celtic and Rangers would get relegated in the first 4 years of PL football. The level of talent is poor.

You do realise with premier league tv money and the sole fact they in the premier league will mean they will be able to attract and buy better talent?

This point is obviously only anecdotal but here goes anyway... from my admittedly subjective point of view, Celtic's support in the 26 counties is seriously dwindling.
Their drop in status on the European stage, the advent of Sky ramming the Premier League down our throats, the general crapness of Scottish football, the rise of Munster & Leinster rugby and, most significantly a general repugnance the "Continuity IRA element" (for want of a better phrase) that has attached itself, like a tumor, to that club - all of these things are contributory factors to their demise.
On the other hand, Rangers remain as popular as they ever were in the Republic ;)
True, joining the Premier League would provide a boost to both clubs - but what would they be bringing in return? Not a lot, to be fair.

They should start in the bottom rung of the English league like all teams do, no reason why they should automatically start in the Premier league. What level could they compete at? League 1 at best.

Anyway, balls to those 2, it's all about Stirling Albion!!

The Scottish FA couldn't be arsed supporting the GB Olympic team. Rangers and Celtic are part of that FA, so no, they can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

Not coming down and starting in the lower leagues, nor starting in the prem. We've seen at first hand how supporters of each club has respected the City and stadium in recent times. Each weekend they spend south of Hadrians wall would be would be like a weekend at Chateau Homs.

In addition, they want independance...that does not mean spending any time in any English football league.
