I mean, if you are a socialist and support Celtic, cool. Nothing wrong with that.
Just stop pretending Celtic are anything more than football club.

My problem is with how people choose to demonstrate political beliefs. Not necessarily the political beliefs they hold. I watch my team and the guy I’m standing beside’s political views don’t interest me at that time.
I may agree with them, or be utterly opposed to them, at the game is not the environment to discuss them. My view is, if you are so passionate about them then do something about them in a more practical way. Get involved, march, petition, tie yourself to a railing, anything, but do it in your own time.
Going to a game and expressing them then getting on with your life without doing fuck all is a pathetic example of not caring too much. But pretending to.
I have arguments on line with these types and have been banned from a few sites for calling out ****s who pretend to be committed. I ask what else do you do? Some don’t like that.
I don’t like people using my club as a political vehicle. I am not alone, although some don’t like to take them on, I do.
We have a lot of baggage in Scotland re religious bigotry, anti Irish anti catholic shit and some react to that in ways I don’t agree with. I react to it too when I meet it, but not at the games.
It’s another reason I detest religion. It divides people. It saddens me greatly, both Celtic and Rangers fans in Glasgow are predominantly working class and to my mind have more in common and face similar issues. Most get in with each other fine. To hate your main rivals team is fine, to hate them because they believe in a different version of a made up pile of shit is depressing. Well, it is to me.
And that’s all I have to say about that.
