They're stuck in their own shit world of struggling to get past the utter nonentities in the Champions League qualifiers.
We’ve won the European Cup. Got to another final and two semi finals, a few quarter finals. And played more games in it than you. You’ve been in it for less than ten years.
Check this table out and look where we are compared to you. When you win it come back and talk to me.

Did you have to blow the dust off that prepared statement? We’ve won the European Cup. Got to another final and two semi finals, a few quarter finals. And played more games in it than you. You’ve been in it for less than ten years.

I think you'll also find that we played in the "old" European Cup in 1968/9. Only 2 games, I conceed, so your last sentence in the first paragraph is incorrect, I'm afraid.
;-)

That doesn’t count, as the competition no longer exists.

You’re beginning to sound like a rag or buswrecker.
It’s all about the istree!
One of the very worst players we signed (pl years) when we didn't have a pot to piss in, went on to star for Celtic for years. You bought him. Take your mind back to when you didn’t have a pot to piss in and remember some of the players you had. Would they have been able to beat the teams we have in Europe?
Funny really, I wasn't alive in 1967. Neither of my parents can remember Celtic winning the EC.We’ve won the European Cup. Got to another final and two semi finals, a few quarter finals. And played more games in it than you. You’ve been in it for less than ten years.

We got out of a fucking group with Salzburg and Leipzig in it. Championship? Even with not the same money we would fucking walk that.
I would honestly think Celtics current team would push for a play off place at best in the current Championship.
I know. Everybody in England does. We are used to that. It’s just the way it is. We haven’t helped ourselves with that perception through not sorting our bastard dire defence and tonight may be another away skelping. My belief is if we sort that we would be much better. Hopefully the summer will sort that, but, I’ve been saying that for four Fucking years.
The reality is the difficulty in getting good players up there in that league. Given a choice between joining Celtic and a decent Championship side such as WBA, Leeds, Villa all big clubs and many players will take the latter.
Were Celtic to play in English football that disadvantage would disappear. I dont think there is any doubt that both Celtic and Rangers could compete in the higher echelons of the English game were they in it. However claims of top 4 in the Prem and other such nonsense are wildly optimistic even in the event of the old firm having the financial clout to rival that of the big 6.
68 they became widespread actually, which explains some of the national rag obsession.I don’t think telly’s arrived in Ireland until 1970, so I understand that. :)
Also, the view expressed in an earlier post that every Irish person supports us is bolloks. I know that, so, your parents never hearing of it doesn’t surprise me at all.
I know most Irish football fans support English teams and again I totally understand that. Too much is made of our links with Ireland by plastic paddy’s here who love nothing better than to get all watery eyed about the old country. Makes me puke. I’m Scottish, not Irish. I have some Irish ancestors on my mothers side but, that doesn’t make me Irish.
On one of my first visits to Dublin the taxi driver was a city fan. The myth of Irish all being Celtic fans is bolloks. We have a lot, but I would guess nowhere near the numbers who have chosen an English team.
Anyway, I don’t as a rule go down the history road, but can be goaded into it. I’m easily goaded and I know it isn’t a good trait.
How did you become a city fan?

Rags, dippers and arse are all well ahead of Celtic, even though a lot of fans of those 3 also support Celtic.
People confuse siding with the team wearing green in the old firm derbies with support.
