Celtic thread 2020/21

The vultures are feeding on the carcass of our season. As would be expected. For us, we need to leave that to one side and focus on how we respond. My personal view is massive change of strategy is required. The Lawell complacency and signings disaster he caused, go cheap and hope, is our main failing and has been for the majority of his tenure. By trying to save money he failed 9 out of 12 times to qualify for the CL by never being prepared. That is at least 9x£30m. For me, when we had only one CL spot, that should have been the no 1 priority, because if we are good enough to do that, we would wipe the floor at home. The money won would allow us to move forward. In that regard, Lawell and Desmond failed.

Lawell is leaving, thank fuck, but Desmond is now in the crosshairs to see how, or if he will respond. King called him out, I hope he replies. Time will tell. Am I convinced he will? Am I fuck.
 
The rumour mill is now on treble shifts and It has been claimed by a journo up here, that Eddie Howe has been approached to see if he would consider coming to us. I have to be honest and say, i hope so, but remind myself that asking a guy if he would consider it, means fuck all. In fact I'm not convinced that has even happened. That is largely down to my zero faith in all of our board getting any fucking thing right. I think he would be a good appointment and it might help him, as it did Rogers, to get a gig down south, particularly if he gets a team together capable of beating the smaller teams in the CL qualifiers through to the group stages. Let's face it, he will never get that unless he is appointed to your top six. So, I'm giving up hope, but I'm not convinced either.

Howe resigned at Burnley as "both" he and is wife were homesick for the South Coast! IMO he will wait for the Soton or Palace job.

Bolton? Who in their right mind would want to live there? Our West Coast is beautiful. Burnley in comparison is like moving into a skip beside an effluent plant, whilst on fire.

Apart from that, I don't think he will come to us. Although I think he should. If he wants European CL football, Burnley will get World Heritage Site status before Soton or Palace get into the CL.

I used to travel up to our sites in Scotland in my working life. There is some nice countryside between the barren sheep shorn uplands. Trouble is the place is infested with midges and even worse Scotchers!!
