I sort of agree but then can see the other side of the argument. Celtic won the Scottish League and Sporting Plinkyplonk who knocked them out won the Kazakh league, but they have to qualify for the group stage in order to squeeze 6 English teams, 4 German teams, 4 Italian teams and 4 Spanish teams in. Maybe the teams who finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 17th in our league should be playing the play offs and Champions should be the ones who qualify automatically.

Teams can have a choice, a bit of a gamble for the big bucks or straight through to the lesser league.

FWIW I don't believe that Celtic should have had to qualify because they won their league, the reward should be chumps league football.
