Ownership of cars and vans has also gone up - increasing by 14% from 3.4 million to 27.3 million.

I only got a C in Maths but somehow that doesn't add up. Surely it was an increase of 3.4 million which equated to a 14% increase. (Jesus where did that come from must have had brain food for breaky)

So in the previous Census, there were only 4 White people left in Britain?

The largest increase in ethnic group over the last decade was seen in the "White: Other" category where an increase of 1.1 million (to 2.5 million) was recorded. This reflects more than half a million Poles who migrated into England and Wales during these years, the ONS said.

One interesting stat was, were you to bump into a random stranger on the streets of London there's more chance of them being either non-white or non-English than them being white and British. Only 45% of London residents is now a white British person. That took me by surprise. I fully expected London to have a larger than average population of foreign nationals and non-white British, but I didn't expect those categories to make up a majority of the population.
