Central heating.

I remember having the old Vulcan Continental free standing for years and years and years.

This was in the house when I bought it in 1992. The house was built in 1984 with no central heating so not sure exactly when it was put in. In all that time I've just had to replace the pump once. That was probably 10-15 years ago. I probably need to upgrade to a combi boiler.

At the time, probably late seventies I enquired about a multipoint heater to save the boiler over the summer. The counter salesman said have you thought about a combi? I went home and researched it and told every one at Aerospace about it. I don't know why but I was the last person to fit one. Struggled replacing all rads and piping, using 10mm copper microbore and manifold, soldered it all up. Someone came along later and said you could have used hep2o push fit. I'd never heard of it, and couldn't believe plastic could have a 25 year guarantee.
