Central midfield.....who do we go for?

I think it is fair to say that one subject we all agree on is the lack of balance within our central midfield department.

Vieira will not have a future at the club beyond the summer whilst there are question marks against De Jong, Barry and Ireland for a variety of reasons.

Whether or not Bob is our manager next season I feel it is pretty obvious that we will be looking to acquire a playmaker and a box-to-box midfielder in the summer to strengthen our options.

I have seen people comment about Gerrard and Sneijder but obviously there are no guarantees that either player will be in blue next season.

I understand that targets will depend on whether we attain 4th or not but who would you like to see us go for in the summer, and why?

Not seen enough of de Rossi tbh to know whether he is what we require, how good is he?

Well aware of Yaya's qualities, just not sure personally that we will pursue him as I can see us unloading Kolo in the summer.

Agreed, although I really don't see him ever being the player we knew he could be now after the injuries, certainly not next season, and we can't rely on him.

Great player though.
