Depends if he has world cup hopesYeh, hope so. Is any CB of quality willing to be back up for the rest of this season though? then maybe coming into the first team next season etc.

Oh yh 100%. More than likely for now though they'd take 3rd choice CB role. Gives them more incentive to perform well when they come in, which is always good.
So ideally someone Chilean, Italian, Dutch, English...Depends if he has world cup hopes
That’s sounds like Pep has been on the phone to him.
If so it looks like we are looking in the quality range needed.
Does anyone seriously believe now we are looking for a backup for Kompany ? More like a replacement Pep’s said he can’t rely on Kompany so probably more likely to battle Otamendi and Stones or play in a three.Only problem is, with a world cup next summer, the top defenders might not want to join unless guaranteed a starting position....as Koulibaly agent mentions above...we looking for a backup for Kompany and not a starter. This might put off a few players and limit who we can buy.
It wouldn't surprise me if Kompany retires at the end of the season.Does anyone seriously believe now we are looking for a backup for Kompany ? More like a replacement Pep’s said he can’t rely on Kompany so probably more likely to battle Otamendi and Stones or play in a three.
Oh wow, he has a release clause? Can’t see him really wanting to leave Barca, where he’s first choice CB, going to win the league and has a great chance of winning the CL. But if he wants to pack up and come to the rainy North, I’d be more than happy.Iñigo would be a good signing at a reasonable price. £60m for Umtiti would be a snip tbh, would turn into the best CB in the world under Pep I reckon. Stones-Umtiti to lead us to back-to-back Champions Leagues :)

You were saying :)Their was a poster or two here in the summer saying Bonucci was not all that good and was over hyped looks like he was spot on. Credit to him.
Bonucci has flopped big time at Milan and would do even worse if he came to the PL. That ship has sailed IMO
