Oh yh 100%. More than likely for now though they'd take 3rd choice CB role. Gives them more incentive to perform well when they come in, which is always good.

That’s sounds like Pep has been on the phone to him.
If so it looks like we are looking in the quality range needed.
Only problem is, with a world cup next summer, the top defenders might not want to join unless guaranteed a starting position....as Koulibaly agent mentions above...we looking for a backup for Kompany and not a starter. This might put off a few players and limit who we can buy.

Iñigo would be a good signing at a reasonable price. £60m for Umtiti would be a snip tbh, would turn into the best CB in the world under Pep I reckon. Stones-Umtiti to lead us to back-to-back Champions Leagues :)

Oh wow, he has a release clause? Can’t see him really wanting to leave Barca, where he’s first choice CB, going to win the league and has a great chance of winning the CL. Believe his release clause is £53m or somewhere around that €60m, I’ve not seen much of Barca / Umtiti but does seem like he is having some contract issues. Not sure he’d leave.

Bonucci has flopped big time at Milan and would do even worse if he came to the PL. That ship has sailed IMO
