This isn't a ITK thread, but a while back it was rumoured that Hughes had gone over to the Osasuna/Barca game and had had a look at Cesar Azpilicueta, the young Spanish RB. Well I was watching Osasuna/Real Madrid tonight and he looked pretty good, solid, calm, good tackler, a proper long throw unlike Richards, not as big but quite quick and a decent passer, they kept a clean sheet and he was playing up against Van Der Vaart, Benzema and Ronaldo at different stages tonight. What does anyone else think of him?

Haven't really watched him to be honest but if he did his part to hold Madrid back in that league then he must be half decent.

We may now have a completely new list of targets now since Mancini came in so he might not be on the radar anymore.

Still not sure what Mancini is planning.

I thought a new CB was his plan with Lescott out and Toure with the ACN, however he seems set on putting Richards back into the middle and is on record as saying this.

With that in mind you'd suspect he's be looking to get a right back in, however is this kid better than Zabaleta and will he fancy the fight? Seems Zaba is fine with the rotation so it makes sense to bring in a high quality right back along the lines of Maicon or Cordoba to compete, then have Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Toure and Onouha fight it out for the 2 centre back roles.

In my opinion Mancini wants Kompany and Richards as his first choice pairing.
