Cesc Fabregas signs for Chelsea (page 190)

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Think we have made a huge mistake here! We will need to be finding a replacement Yaya in a year or two and we have let the perfect one move to our rivals for a cut price! We need to be signing a hell of a cb cause i make Chelsea favourites for the league if the can get him. They have a pretty young midfield and with cesc could dominate for awhile.

Perhaps if we weren't restricted then we may of been interested but we have other areas that need strengthening first.

I still think we are going to go all out for Benatia and he will take up most of that 50m cap we have set upon us but I would have liked to have seen Fabregas at City.

Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando, Fabregas and Garcia - that is Champions League winners quality in my opinion.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

I cant see both mangala and benatia moving they are just too expensive and will be available for around the same money next year, i cant see cesc being available next year! We could get another year out of mdm and who knows nastasic could step up!

The second player it looks like we're going to let go to Chelsea who would suit us down to the ground and who we'll seriously regret not pushing for. Yes I know we have the mini-transfer embargo thing but you should be moving heaven and earth to sign these players (No two guesses for the first one).

We can't buy everyone! Chelsea pulled of the Hazzard deal with a big brown envelope for his dad licked and sealed by Abromivitch himself no doubt but alas he wasn't enough for them to win owt :)

Oh absolutely, but how often do players like Hazard or Fabregas come on the market? There still hasn't been anyone as good as Hazard available since him (IMO), and Fabregas is most importantly homegrown which for our squad would be a godsend, seen as we don't exactly have world class home grown talent coming out of our ears.

This isn't like missing out on Luiz, or even someone like Thiago Silva or Ibrahimovic. Both those players would have addressed clear deficiencies in the squad, for more reasons than purely football in the case of Fabregas. If Chelsea hadn't got Hazard they had no fallback nearly as good, and it's the same with Fabregas. We should be throwing the kitchen sink at him.

We need a team, not a cherry picked wish list from Europe.
Many doubted Fernandinho, yet he has become the Über DeJong in the middle, the silent assassin of the opponents attacks from midfield, is it any coincidence Yaya had such a great season? No, not bad for Pellegrini's first season, with a few more tweaks, and a class defender, and a full season under his belt, I have total faith that Pellegrini will make the signings we need, not what the tabloids want to see.
